Common questions

Why doesn’t my keyboard hear me?

Open Settings → DicText → Keyboards on your iPhone and make sure Allow Full Access is on. Without it, the keyboard cannot reach the network to transcribe your voice. We never read what you type with other keyboards.

How do I switch back to the previous app after recording?

Swipe up from the bottom of the screen and hold to open the App Switcher, then tap the previous app. iOS does not allow apps to switch automatically — but recording keeps running in the background while you switch.

How do I cancel my subscription?

iOS: open Settings → [Your Name] → Subscriptions and select DicText.
Web: sign in at dictext.com, open your dashboard, and click Manage subscription. Cancellations take effect at the end of the current billing period.

Can I delete my account?

Yes — see Account Deletion for the steps. Account deletion is irreversible and removes your devices, usage history, and profile data.

Where are my voice recordings stored?

They aren’t stored. Audio is sent over an encrypted connection to our backend, transcribed, and discarded once the transcript is returned to your device. See our Privacy Policy for details on what we keep and for how long.

Which languages does DicText support?

DicText detects 50+ languages automatically. You can also force a specific language from the in-app settings if auto-detection misidentifies a short clip.

Is DicText available outside the App Store?

The iOS keyboard is distributed exclusively through the App Store. There is also an Android version and a web companion at dictext.com.
